This will be an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join our client's team in either California or Arizona. Working in a team environment, the role is primarily responsible for conducting analyses to assist underwriters in the selection, assessment and management of risk.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
•Underwriting decision support and risk modeling
•Maintain a portfolio of catastrophe risks relevant to the US market
•Portfolio analysis and optimization
•Contribute to the development of standard risk modeling protocols and, the analysis of underwriting information regarding the underlying exposure data and contracts
•Maintain a close involvement with the Actuarial department to continuously improve pricing and return on capital tools
•Manage and train other Risk Modelers on the various models by maintaining a thorough understanding the various parts of an insurance/reinsurance submission workflow and different lines of business
•Assist with the process of maintaining, evaluating, enhancing & developing models as required
•Represent the catastrophe modeling analyst's perspective in underwriting meetings and client meetings as required
•Act as a facilitator between catastrophe modeling analysis, underwriting analysis and technical product development
We are looking for as much as possible of the following in a preferred candidate:
•5 years of professional experience using Property Catastrophe Risk Modeling Software in a team oriented underwriting environment
•Experience and/or training on AIR and RMS
•Completed University degree in a relevant subject (math or science)
•Computer programming experience would be an asset (SQL, Matlab, or Perl)
•Strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and career potential will be attractive for the right individual. Bermuda is a low tax environment with 5.25% (maximum) tax deduction.
This is a FT/staff based role. Ideally this role would be based out of California or Arizona. Compensation will be attractive to the right individual complete with health insurance benefits.

19 May 2012 at 5:37pmThis position is a Middle Office Operations role supporting the NON-USD Derivatives Trading business. Responsibilities include daily trade capture and reconciliation, P&L attribution & reconciliation and risk reporting. The role will support a variety of OTC product types including Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, spot trades, and Structured derivatives. The role involves interfacing with multiple business partners including Trading, Sales, Finance, Technology, Confirms, and Market Risk while ensuring that the operational risk associated with the business is being mitigated.
In addition to daily responsibilities, the candidate will work on Industry initiatives specific to the OTC Rates trading business.
Please Note: Schedule is Monday Friday, 40 hours/week, though the needs of the business often dictates longer hours. Candidate should be able to meet these time demands. The role is based in San Francisco, CA.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years capital markets industry experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Thorough understanding of loan, securities and derivative products. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
5+ years experience in the Financial Services industry with exposure to Interest Rate derivatives.
Ability to clearly communicate and adapt to a fast-paced business environment.
Knowledge of OTC products, fixed-income risk analysis and P&L reporting is a prerequisite.
Detail-oriented and be able to multitask and respond in a timely manner to ad hoc requests.
Preferred Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Mathematics related field.
Comfortable working both independently and within a group to meet deadlines.
Product knowledge including FX background and knowledge of existing industry initiatives.
Experience working with MS Excel.

• External (Customer): Build role as the internal and external mortgage expert; builds and maintains good relationships with customers; and exhibits consultative skills to provide recommendations based on financial analysis and expertise, product knowledge, and knowledge of the customer's financial needs, goals, and circumstances.
• This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008 and (DRE) license.
