Role Overview
Located in Sacramento, CA and primarily supporting the BioWare Social business unit, the Sr. Financial Analyst will be involved in financial planning & reporting, ad hoc analysis and defining studio processes. The successful candidate's principal responsibility will be to supply timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting and analysis to functional managers and the senior management team in a matrix environment. In addition, the Sr. Financial Analyst will drive efficient processes for budgeting and forecasting of expenses, headcount and capital as well as provide support to corporate business partners and the BioWare Label finance leadership team.
• Have ownership of business partner relationships with departmental managers. Work directly with corporate business partners/global studio finance to develop annual budget and monthly forecasts and analyze actual results against both plan and prior estimate.
• Maintain overall awareness of company performance and direction in order to guide business partner's financial decisions within budget and drive shareholder value. Establish yourself as the key advisor to business partners on financial matters. Become a sought out, value added resource.
• Through effective business partnerships, maintain pulse on business performance issues and opportunities. Serve as the expert, "go to" person for designated function.
• Have expertise in financial systems in order to produce accurate and timely ad hoc reporting and analysis as required to support decision-making.
• Drive evolution of forecasting and budgeting processes to increase efficiency and value add to business partners.
• Serve as liaison to finance business partners in studios to ensure seamless communication and organizational alignment with respect to worldwide forecasting and planning processes.
• Maintain pulse on business performance issues and opportunities to keep studio exec/finance leadership aware of risk to quarterly forecast attainment.
• Be adept at utilizing various financial software and systems for data query and reporting to develop high quality analysis.
• Maintain monthly product and studio reports and operating metrics.
• Responsible for monthly close process.
What skills does EA look for?
Technical skills and experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required. MBA preferred
• 4-6 years experience in a divisional or corporate role (internal management reporting, forecasting, planning, analysis)
• Expert knowledge of Excel required
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with ERP Financial Systems including Essbase reporting and Oracle
• Exceptional analytical and creative problem solving skills
• Strong business acumen and understanding of functional linkages
• Appreciation for data integrity, process definition and organizational alignment
• Highly motivated, self-starter; comfortable interacting with Management
• Able to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities
