Accountant Financial Analyst - New Position! Great Opportunity! (Poway CA)

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic accounting team in Poway CA. This individual will assist the Finance department in creating timely and accurate financial statements, preparing bank reconciliations, and financial projects and reports. Primary job functions typically require exercising independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare month end journal entries for multiple companies, including but not limited to prepaid expenses, fixed assets, bad debts, property taxes, and work in process.
Insure the accuracy of all balance sheet accounts for multiple companies by preparing schedules detailing what is in the accounts and/or tying them to sub-ledgers.
Review all income statement accounts for accuracy and reasonableness based on account history, insuring corrections are made as necessary.
Run automated financial reports when closing is complete.
Prepare monthly reporting packages including but not limited to operations reports, sales reports, and days sales outstanding.
Work with operations managers to help them understand the financial statements and answer specific questions they may have.
Maintain fixed asset system, including additions and disposals, properly accounting for all transactions.
Prepare year end schedules for audit and provide documentation for auditors as necessary.
Prepare legally required reports including but not limited to sales taxes, property taxes, PUC reports, and business licenses, as well as specific reports required by customers.
On a daily basis, post all bank transactions and investigate transactions for which documentation was not received.
Reconcile all bank accounts for multiple companies.

Backup for Payroll Manager, run payroll or manual checks in his/her absence. Back up accounts payable and credit and collections as required.
Participate in process improvement projects as required.
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, suppliers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Complete discretion is required, as this position will have access to financial statements, payroll information, and other confidential information.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Some overtime may be required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience and training) with five years related experience, preferably in a service industry.

PRICING/FINANCIAL ANALYST

MG Properties is searching for a Pricing/Financial Analyst to join our Asset Management team. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT AREN'T LIMITED TO:

1. Become proficient in the methodology of the pricing software to be able to effectively work with Property Managers to maximize the benefits of the product.
2. Setting up communities in Revenue Management software.
3. Conduct pricing and renewal calls with Property Managers to discuss pricing strategy and property performance while determining pricing for properties using the Revenue Management software.
4. Assisting in the financial analysis / review process of monthly and quarterly accounting reports.
5. Maintaining Lender communication and required financial reporting.
6. Compile and analyze data and financial reports.
7. Assist with the internal audit process as needed. Tracking compliance of pricing, renters insurance and other areas as may be required.
8. Assist with the annual property budgeting process.
9. Other assignments as deemed appropriate by Asset Manager and/or Senior Vice President of Asset Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated experience in the multi-family housing industry in order to understand the dynamics of rental pricing a strong preference.
• Financial Analysis and/or Accounting experience a strong preference .
• Demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables.
• Ability to lead meetings and calls with multiple participants.
• Ability to create and work within existing sophisticated Excel-based reports/spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of Yardi property management software and LRO or Yieldstar a strong preference.
• Must be highly organized, numbers oriented and analytical.
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail a must.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff is essential.

We will sponsor you for FINRA Series 7 and 63 registrations. A background in law, accounting, banking, brokerage or executive management will be particularly useful. An advanced degree or designation (MBA, JD, CFPฎ, CPA, ChFC) is a plus.

Accounting Function

Technology & Patent Research, International Inc. (TPR), a world leader in scientific and technical consulting, is seeking an accounting manager / controller for full time employment. The accountant at TPR is responsible for general ledger maintenance of business entities. The accountant's objective is to provide accurate financial reporting to the company's directors and to maintain an effective use of cash flows for business purposes, including financial management.

Knowledge & Skills:
• B.A. in Accounting, or equivalent accounting experience 5 years;
• Minimum 2 years experience in working with financial statement preparation and general ledger maintenance;
• Experience with budget preparation & cash flow monitoring;
• Practice with establishing personnel policies in connection with financial information procedures;
• Knowledge of QuickBooks (preferably with pro-advisor status) with advanced Excel skills for reporting purposes;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Demonstrates innovative thinking and commitment to achieve the Company's Vision and Mission;
• Professional attitude with a commitment to personal development;
• Must have a strong attention to detail, be accurate, and demonstrate quality control.
• Individual is well organized and has the ability to multitask.
•Position requires a high level of responsibility and leadership.

Responsibilities
• Maintains general ledger and compiles year-end financial statements for all entities of the company.
• Responsible for all aspects of accounting functions including the annual 1099 reporting, annual use-tax calculations, business tax reporting, currency translation reporting, and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Works directly with President to achieve budgetary and financial goals;
• Ensures personnel policies are approved and in compliance when necessary;
• Responsible for monitoring cash flow and reporting effects to the Vice President for investment opportunities, including foreign currency transactions;
• In charge of initiating new investment strategies and opportunities for cash growth / savings;
• Oversees the collections process for aged accounts receivable;
• Represents accounting function with various other departments and responsible for financial decisions/impacts;
• Other duties as assigned;
• Confidentiality of information is required at all times.
