Senior Financial Analyst (Morristown, NJ)

Our client, a consumer goods company in Central New Jersey, has an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst.
Responsibilities:
•Preparation of systems prior to and throughout budget and forecast processes, including P&L and data integrity of all pieces of P&L, working capital, capex and cash flow
•Manage processes to ensure all budget and forecast data is loaded into sales reporting and general ledger systems.
•Responsible for monthly load and reconciliation of actual results in Cognos and data warehouse
•Lead development of reporting tools within Cognos to improve efficiencies of FP&A team and provide improved analyses to management.
•Lead enhancements to US Cognos system, including defining business requirements, provide expertise in system design and coordinate enhancement testing prior to rollout.
•Subject matter expert in US and global Cognos systems; provide training to users and suggest efficiencies to processes through improved system use.
•Serve as main point of contact for local and global IT, global finance, local management team regarding FP&A financial systems including local Cognos, data warehouse, global Cognos.
•Serve as an advocate for the FP&A team with IT colleagues to develop enhancement to current systems which support FP&A processes and analysis.
•Prepare and deliver budget, forecast and 3YP presentations to USLT and global senior management
Competencies:
•Attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced organization is required.
•Experience working in a team environment highly preferred.
•Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
•Excellent written and oral presentation communication skills in order to design and deliver presentations
•Ability to build relationships across functional boundaries at multiple levels internally and externally
•Ability to independently make quick, sound decisions with limited data and execute appropriate judgment on when to escalate information
•Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
•Outstanding analytical, creative and problem solving skills
•Excellent project management skills
•Advanced computer skills -- excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
•Overtime will be required, especially during budget and forecast cycles
•Cons Goods exp preferred
•Cognos experience in the areas of developing/enhancing systems and processes in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and business analysis is required
Education:
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
•CPA or MBA preferred
•3-6 years experience in finance/accounting required.
