Bank Accounting Officer (Charleston)
8 May 2012 at 8:05amSmall bank looking for an accounting officer . Prior experience with SEC reporting and/or call reports is a definite MUST. Job responsibilities are as follows:
• Under the general supervision of the Controller, performs general accounting, accounting records, and other related duties in daily administration of finance department.
• Maintains general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, accounts analysis and reconciliation, and closing books monthly as well as daily/weekly deposit analysis reporting to FDIC.
• Performs monthly investment portfolio analysis, bank reconciliations, and addresses questions and problems from banking institutions.
• Interfaces with outside computer service for accounting and management data and initiates modifications/enhancements to computerized systems.
• Assists internal/external auditors preparing schedules, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
• Maintains records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material. Updates records as necessary.
• Recommends, designs, and implements any necessary department controls.
• Performs quarterly reporting to FDIC, Federal Reserve and SEC, monthly Board Meeting reports and other management reports as requested.
• Prepare monthly financial statements to include preparation of monthly balance sheet, income statement, reports on changes in financial position/budget variances. Maintains related records.
• Maintains records of all stock options and warrants for the financial institution.
• Maintains all borrowings, TRUPS and TARP to include preparation of interest accrual entries, reconciliations and recording/making all payments due.
• Maintains the monthly ALLL process on the MST system. This includes updating all classified/criticized loans, historical loss ratios, updating FAS 114 data and the associated journal entries for the ALLL.
• The maintenance of the financials/GL on the ProfitStars system including data loads, reports and calculation of Capital.
• Gather data for the forecasting/planning process.
• Involvement in the annual budgeting process.
At least 5 years experience in a banking environment and Accounting degree required, CPA a plus! Interested candidates please email resumes.
