Contractor in N. Seattle has an open position for an analyst. The analyst compiles, analyzes data transactions, sets up and completes data tables, compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records.
Essential Functions:
* Analyze transactions, present data in meaningful format.
* Review balance sheet accounts, analyze and reconcile activity, record monthly entries. .
* Enter new and abandoned assets; calculate-depreciation and post to G/L. Balance monthly reports to general ledger. Run
and balance reports for year-end auditors.
* Run Misc. YTD ledgers and preliminary financial statements. Update supporting spreadsheets, balancing to G/L. Write
and post J/E for occupancy and warehouse pools.
* Assist with accounting software conversion by entering and updating data in tables, set up GL accounts,
codes/classes/other fields in multiple modules. Test transactions repeatedly throughout process.
* Processes payroll for staff employees
* Compile payroll reports; calculate and submit FICA/Withholding taxes for Federal and State agencies.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college; or ten years related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
* Experience with Viewpoint construction software preferred
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to multitask and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Neat and professional appearance
* Prompt and regular attendance
* Must have the ability to read, speak and write in English.
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

MISSION

EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION
• 3 - 5 years of prior business experience in financial, operational, or compliance review.
• BA/BS Degree (Accounting preferred)
• Experience in public accounting and/or auditing
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office & MS Visio
• Adept at assessing complex financial, operational, & compliance processes and assessing and reporting on risks.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) as well as Human Resource, Payroll, and general business laws and regulations.
• Ability to present concisely and descriptively in both oral and written format.
• Ability to analyze complex processes and to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the process and related controls.

• Up to 1 year of related lending experience required. Demonstrate an understanding of income producing real estate and applicable real estate laws, notes, and deeds of trust.

Work in conjunction with the assigned Certified Public Accounting office to assure corporate income tax compliance and accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of favorable tax codes.
Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, process and data, and enhance the Company's value.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
Must have at a minimum of 5 years hands-on accounting managerial experience.
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, and banking working knowledge.
Must have strong working knowledge of construction accounting.
Has the strong ability to present to all levels of the organization, articulating and sharing ideas that establish credibility.
Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory.
Must be computer savvy showing a high-level of proficiency working with all Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
Must have a high-level of proficiency working with Sage Timberline accounting and project management software.
